Andy Lusher

London saxophonist Andy Lusher grew up in small town ontario in Port Stanley. Andy got into music at an early age. As a sax player in a small town he had to learn how to adapt to not having other musicians around, so he learned to play basically every other instrument for use in backup for learning how to improvize jazz. "I learned to play bass, piano, all the woodwinds, guitar and have been producing/recording solely for the last 20+ years. Every recording I do contains parts all played by myself".

Lusher won a Berklee scholarship at age 15 and was awarded outstanding musicianship award from the Mayor of St. Thomas ontario, travelled and played in such prestigious concerts around the globe - in Montreux Jazz festival in Switzerland, Germany, Detroit Jazz festival and currently play in Southwestern Ontario clubs and venues. "I studied jazz performance briefly at McGill university in Montreal, spent 4 years at University of Western Ontario for a Bachelor of Music Education degree".

His family is musical as well. Andy's grandfather was a jazz drummer, father plays bass/sings, and his brother plays sax and teaches music.

Andy currently directs a Jazz band - The "Moonliters" in Lambeth ontario. He also has played in over 30 bands in the last 20 + years.
